Day 1 Tallinn
Day 2 Tallinn
Lunch at a modern Estonian restaurant Kaerajaan.
Breakfast. Four hour guided bus excursion in Tallinn. Visiting Kadriorg park, KUMU art museum, Song festival Ground, Pirita, the Open Air Museum. Lunch in Kolu Tavern where you can taske traditional Estonian cuisine. Afterwards transfer back to the center.
Breakfast and check-out. Departure to the biggest island of Estonia - Saaremaa. The island is known as a good recreation place with unique nature and a lot of sights. Saaremaa has retained its uniqueness due to its location and insulation. In the villages there are still stone fences and houses with thatched roofs, beautiful national costumes and dialectal language are still used. Junipers, dolomite, windmills and the famous local home-brewed beer are considered the symbols of Saaremaa.
Lunch in Muhu - a tiny and romantic island where time rests. Muhu is an island that has developed over the centuries at its own pace, its traditions are well known all over Estonia and the famous Muhu patterns are a refined expression of folk-art. In terms of tourism, Muhu has remained rather untainted so far. After lunch in Muhu island you will visit the fishing village of Koguva. This village has kept its traditional sights dating from the 16th century: wooden houses with roofs of reed and stone walls supporting age-old boats. Check in for 2 nights to the centrally located hotel in Kuressaare. Evening is free to have dinner on your own.
Day 5 Saaremaa island (Kuressaare)
Breakfast. Guided city tour in Kuressaare. The most important tourist sight in the only town of the county, Kuressaare (up to 1917 Arensburg) is the bishopric castle dating from the 13th century. This castle is unique in the Baltic countries. Kuressaare is also known for its beautiful and well preserved old town.
Lunch in Kuressaare. Evening is free.
Day 6 Kuressaare (3 hour drive) Pärnu (2,5 hour drive) Riga
Departure to the capital of Lativa, Riga, after breakfast. We take the same way back to the mainland of Estonia and continue our way to Pärnu. Pärnu is a summer resort in Estonia which is popular among tourists and also Estonians during summer. It is a small former Hanseatic city with a very beautiful sandy beach.
We take a short break in Pärnu to have lunch there and to walk around a little bit. Our journey continues to Riga after visiting Pänu. Check -in for 2 nights to a centrally located hotel in Riga. Evening is free in Riga to have dinner on your own.
Day 7 Riga
Breakfast. 4 hour walking and driving excursion in Riga. Lunch after city tour. Evening is free.
Eight hundred years have shaped the city’s unique appearance and rich traditions. Riga has unique values due to its rather intact medieval architecture and that of later periods, the urban structure, the richness and quality of Art Noveau architecture and the 19-th century wooden architecture of the city. Inscribing the historic centre of Riga on the World Heritage List of UNESCO recognized it.
Day 8 Riga(2hour drive) Hill of Crosses(2hour drive)Palanga(30min drive) Klaipeda
Breakfast and check out. Morning departure to seaside resorts Palanga and Klaipeda. On the way visiting Hill of Crosses.
The Hill of Crosses is the Lithuanian national pilgrimage center. Standing upon a small hill are many hundreds of thousands of crosses that represent Christian devotion and a memorial to Lithuanian national identity.
Palanga is a beach resort known for its thermal and mineral baths. The first inhabitants settled on the present territory of Palanga as early as the3rd and 2nd centuries B.C. The Palanga Botanical Gardens boast over 300 plant species and are considered to be Lithuania's most beautiful and richest botanical gardens. Another attraction of the park is the Tiskevicius Manor House which now houses the Amber Museum. Amber, popularly known as Lithuanian gold, can still be found on the shores of the Baltic Sea. The Amber Museum has a unique collection that illustrates amber's 40-million year-old story.
Excursion in the Amber Museum and after that dinner in Palanga. Journey continues to Klaipeda where we spend 2 nights.
Day 9 Klaipeda (1 hour drive) Curonian Split (1 hour drive) Klaipeda
Breakfast and short walking tour in the Old Town of Klaipeda. Departure to the striking beauty and tranquillity of the Curonian Peninsula - Neringa. It offers such varied attractions as pure „singing” sand dunes,Witches Hill in Juodkrante, fragrant pine forests, a fascinating beach coastline and the Thomas Mann Museum in Nida. Nida is a peaceful and pretty village situated at the end of Curonian Spit, with the Baltic Sea on one side and a lagoon on the other, it`s a truly unique place to visit.
We spend 5 hours is this picturesque part of Lithuania - having lunch in Nida, visiting Witches Hill and sand dunes. Free time to spend time in Nida and to sunbath or shop. We continue our day with a drive to Klaipeda where we spend a night. Evening is free to have dinner on your own.
Breakfast and check-out. Departure to Vilnius. On the way having a break in Kaunas and visiting 14th century Trakai island castle, former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The castle lies on a peninsula about 26 km to Vilnius, set between three picturesque lakes. After excursion to the castle you have 30 min free time in Trakai.
Dinner in Vilnius after check-in for 2 nights to a centrally located hotel in Vilnius.
Breakfast. Morning walking and driving city tour in the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius. Vilnius is one of the largest Baroque cities north of the Alps, being the Baltic variation of the combination of Parisian spirit and Roman architecture. During the tour you can see the symbols of the town: Gediminas Avenue until you reach the Parliament; you will see KGB Museum, Lukiskiu Square and learn about the street history; Barricades near Parliament; Green Bridge; St Peter and Paul's Church (stop and visit); Vilnius University, President Palace; St Anne's Church and Bernardine's Church; Amber Gallery (stop and visit); The Hill of Subacius (panorama view); The Gates of Dawn (stop); Russian Church of the Holy Spirit; Town Hall Square; Rudininku Street, Pylimo Street, Islandijos Street, Totoriu Street and return back to Cathedral Square.
After the tour you have free time to have lunch in Vilnius, to shop and to explore the capital of Lithuania on your own. Dinner will be served in a restaurant Belmontas close to Vilnius. After dinner transfer back to Vilnius.
Breakfast and check-out. Departure back to Latvia, to a hotel which is located in a beautiful natural landscape on the shore of a lake and surrounded by pine forest. On the way visiting famous Rundale palace.
Rundāle Palace is one of the most outstanding monuments of Baroque and Rococo art in Latvia. It was built between 1736 and 1740 as a summer residence of Duke Ernst Johann of Courland.
Lunch in Rundale after the excursion. Journey continues to Baltezers where we spend a night.
Day 13 Baltezers (2,5 hour drive) South Estonia (2 hour drive) Tartu
Breakfast and check-out. Departure to Estonia, to the University town called Tartu. On our way we drive through Gauja National Park in Latvia and have delicious lunch at Greete motel in Estonia. It is a very unique building in South Estonia as it is the biggest timber house in the country.
We then continue to take a look at the highest point of the Baltics - Suur Munamägi (Big Egghill, 318m above the sea level). Evening is free in Tartu to have dinner on your own.
Day 14 Tartu (2,5 hour drive) Tallinn
Breakfast. 2 hour walking tour in Tartu. It includes a visit to the University, Toome Hill Park with its monuments, bridges, St John`s church and Town Hall square.
Tartu is a university town and a city of youth! The time-honoured university, museum-rich and Hanseatic city of Tartu lies on the banks of the River Emajõgi. The capital of sothern Estonia is the second largest city in the country ( but the largest in terms of student population!) and the oldest in the Baltic States. Tartu is a modern city with a rich historical heritage and culture.
It is the cradle of the Estonian Song Festival, Estonian theatre and the Estonian state; Tartu is the intellectual capital of Estonia where national awareness and the culture of Estonia was born.After the tour you have 2 hour free time. Lunch is served at a historical restaurant Volga in Tartu.
Transfer back to the starting point of the tour - Tallinn. Check- in for one night to Nordic Hotel Forum. Evening is free for you to rest in a hotel relax centre or take stroll in the Old Town of Tallinn.
Day 15 Tallinn
Breakfast and check-out. Transfer to the airport. Departure flight
